Join Reni Eddo-Lodge – a transformative voice in contemporary British discourse on race, feminism, and structural inequality – in conversation about systemic racism, white privilege, and the emotional disconnect that often blocks meaningful dialogue. SOCIAL CHANGE PROGRAMME

In this incisive and urgent talk, Reni Eddo-Lodge explores the invisible scaffolding of systemic inequality and the emotional disconnect that often blocks meaningful dialogue about race and power. Drawing from her bestselling book Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race, she examines how historical amnesia, institutional bias, and defensive reactions uphold the status quo—and what it takes to dismantle it.

Through personal reflection, cultural critique, and political analysis, Eddo-Lodge challenges audiences to move beyond performative allyship and toward structural transformation. She interrogates the role of media, education, and activism in shaping public consciousness, and calls for a reimagining of social justice that centres marginalized voices.

This talk is not just a call to awareness—it’s a call to action. With clarity, compassion, and uncompromising honesty, Eddo-Lodge invites listeners to confront their complicity, embrace discomfort, and commit to the long, necessary work of change.

Reni is in conversation with Shardia Briscoe-Palmer, Assistant Professor in Sociology, University of Nottingham.
